Broadcasting live from the Majete Wildlife Reserve in Malawi, Africa! The Majete Wildlife Reserve, covering approximately 270 square miles in Malawi’s south west, is a mosaic of undulating hills, grassy plains, and mixed woodlands punctuated by star chestnut and mahogany trees.
Majete has been a pioneer for large-scale wildlife reintroductions with over 3,000 animals belonging to 17 species reintroduced over 20 years. Births of wild dog pups, and giraffe and black rhino calves have provided evidence of these species thriving.

About the Camera System
These live wildlife cameras are powered by a custom remote streaming platform developed by PixCams. Each camera is deployed in a remote location throughout Majete Wildlife Reserve, often in areas with no access to commercial power or traditional internet infrastructure.
The systems operate using solar energy and battery storage, allowing them to function continuously in challenging field conditions. Video is transmitted via the Starlink satellite network, enabling reliable live streaming from some of Africa’s most remote wildlife habitats.
At the heart of each installation is the PixCams EZ Streamer Encoder, a cloud-controlled streaming platform specifically designed for remote wildlife monitoring. The cloud management capabilities allow PixCams engineers to remotely configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and update camera systems without needing to physically visit the site. This unique combination of solar power, satellite connectivity, and cloud-controlled streaming technology makes it possible to bring live views of Majete’s wildlife to viewers around the world 24 hours a day.
These camera systems were custom-designed by PixCams to provide a reliable, low-maintenance solution for conservation organizations operating in remote environments, helping connect people worldwide with the wildlife and conservation efforts taking place in Majete Wildlife Reserve.
