We’re excited to announce that a BirdNET-Cloud mobile app is coming soon!

BirdNET-Cloud was designed from the beginning around a simple idea: your wildlife monitoring station shouldn’t be something you can only see when you’re sitting at home on the same network. Your station is connected to the cloud, which means you can follow what it’s hearing from anywhere — and soon that experience will be even better on your phone.

The new BirdNET-Cloud mobile app will make it easy to keep your stations and detections right in your pocket.

Whether you’re running a Bird Station, Bat Station, Hybrid Station, or Nighthawk Station, you’ll be able to quickly check in and see what your station has been detecting.

Imagine being away from home and pulling out your phone to see:

🐦 What birds are singing in your backyard right now
🦇 What bats were detected overnight
🌙 What nocturnal migrants passed over your station
📊 Recent detections and activity from your stations
🎧 Recordings and spectrograms captured by BirdNET-Cloud

And because BirdNET-Cloud is built around a connected network of stations, the app opens up some exciting possibilities beyond simply viewing your own station.

Our goal is to make BirdNET-Cloud an easy way to listen to, explore, and understand the wildlife around us — wherever you happen to be.

The mobile app is currently in development, and we’ll be sharing more information, screenshots, and testing opportunities as we get closer to release.

This is another big step toward making BirdNET-Cloud a complete platform for 24/7 wildlife acoustic monitoring — from an inexpensive Raspberry Pi station in your backyard to a network you can access from anywhere.
