Build Your BirdNET-Cloud Station
Choose the station that matches your interests and start listening to the wildlife around you. Whether you’re interested in identifying the birds visiting your feeder, monitoring bats after sunset, tracking nocturnal bird migration, or combining multiple technologies into a single station, BirdNET-Cloud gives you the flexibility to build the system that’s right for you.
Bird Station
Love using the Merlin Bird ID app to identify birds by sound? A BirdNET-Cloud Bird Station brings that same sense of discovery to your home, school, park, or nature center, but instead of listening only when you open an app, it listens continuously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Bat Station
Just as the BirdNET-Cloud Bird Station lets you discover the birds visiting your yard, a Bat Station reveals the fascinating world that comes alive after sunset. Every bat detection is recorded and uploaded to your BirdNET-Cloud dashboard, complete with the date, time, species identification, audio recording, and ultrasonic spectrogram. By morning, you’ll have a detailed record of the bats that were active while you were sleeping.
System Requirements
- Raspberry Pi 4 or Pi 5
- 32Gb SD Card
- AudioMoth UBS Microphone
- Pi Power Supply

Hybrid Station
Why choose between monitoring birds and bats when one station can do both? The BirdNET-Cloud Hybrid Station provides continuous, around-the-clock wildlife monitoring by listening for birds during the day and automatically switching to ultrasonic bat monitoring after sunset. During daylight hours, the station uses the BirdNET artificial intelligence model to identify bird songs and calls around your property. As evening arrives, BirdNET-Cloud transitions into bat-monitoring mode, using the AudioMoth USB Microphone to capture ultrasonic echolocation calls.
System Requirements
- Raspberry Pi 4 or Pi 5
